Out of the 250 runners in the 10km race, 48 were women!
I am honored to have supported the SOMALILAND marathon where girls got to run too, despite parents’ reluctance, due to fear that women runners could have their uterus fall off. Luckily, no such thing happened.
I had similar obstacles when promoting cycling for girls in PAKISTAN. Parents would not allow their daughters to come, with fear they would lose virginity through cycling!
