Devastated with the death of our FREE WESTERN SAHARA rapper friend Flitox Krizi Sahraui

by iara lee

He was featured in our film Life is Waiting: Referendum and Resistance in Western Sahara. I had the honor of interviewing him in the occupied territories and documented his passion and commitment to using his music against MOROCCAN occupation!
He tried to join the CANARY ISLANDS from the shores of Dakhla city in south Western Sahara, hundreds of miles away from the Canary Islands. He was with another 30 individuals including women on a boat and were overthrown by a big wave. Only 10 out of 30 survived. His body hasn’t been found yet. The search is still going on. This is all the product of occupation and all that it entails. Sahrawis are looking for a better present and a better future, away from Moroccan occupation and oppression! FREE WESTERN SAHARA, we will keep fighting!
